Revelation 3: 15-20 KJV
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
These scriptures are representative to the current state of the Christian Church. Are you lukewarm? If so, God is not pleased!
The set of scriptures are even more poignant when reading the interpretation from the Message Bible:
Revelation: 3: 15- 20 MSG
15-17 “I know you inside and out, and find little to my liking. You’re not cold, you’re not hot—far better to be either cold or hot! You’re stale. You’re stagnant. You make me want to vomit. You brag, ‘I’m rich, I’ve got it made, I need nothing from anyone,’ oblivious that in fact you’re a pitiful, blind beggar, threadbare and homeless.
18 “Here’s what I want you to do: Buy your gold from me, gold that’s been through the refiner’s fire. Then you’ll be rich. Buy your clothes from me, clothes designed in Heaven. You’ve gone around half-naked long enough. And buy medicine for your eyes from me so you can see, really see.
19 “The people I love, I call to account—prod and correct and guide so that they’ll live at their best. Up on your feet, then! About face! Run after God!
20-21 “Look at me. I stand at the door. I knock. If you hear me call and open the door, I’ll come right in and sit down to supper with you.
It's time for us to examine ourselves and determine whether we have put ourselves in a position that does not make God happy with us. We don't want God to want to vomit us out! That means we are distasteful, disgusting to Him. Often times our focus on things other than God has made us become that to Him! We can't walk in the middle of the road, we have to be on fire for God, love Him and His house or be freezing cold. That is what He would prefer!

Feel lost? Maybe you recognize that you are lukewarm and you want to be on fire for God! God is standing at the door and knocking, will you let Him in? He only wants you to have the joy of His salvation and to be filled with His precious Spirit, so that you can have an everlasting fire for Him.
This prayer is just for you, repeat this aloud and speak to God, He will answer you!
Father, I have found myself wanting and I need you! I need your love and I need your guidance. I don't want you to be displeased with my life and I ask you to forgive me for all of my sins. God, please wash me clean and purify my soul. Touch my heart and help me be more like you. I come to you God to tell you that I believe that your son died for me, Jesus is my savior and I want to be saved and live a righteous life before you. Please save me God, help me be on fire for you, and fill me with your Spirit. In Jesus' Name, Amen!
